The hidden risk of owning solar

Most solar systems include long equipment warranties—yet many homeowners have no one to call when something breaks.

Installers come and go

Companies rebrand, get acquired, or shut down. The original installer may not be there when you need support.

Manufacturers need proof

Warranty claims usually require diagnostics, monitoring screenshots, serial numbers, and a service plan to swap parts.

Service is hard to find

Many contractors won’t touch systems they didn’t install—and quotes can be all over the place.

Systems go down quietly

It’s common for a system to stop producing while the homeowner doesn’t notice until bills spike.
